The Ground-breaking2008

Kamimura Megumi Company: Donzoko

RT Picks

There is no weird stage equipment, and no extravagant costumes. Technique is barred out as well. Not even smiles. In a nutshell, if you expect the "gaiety" you've probably seen in other dance performances, this one's not for you. However, the simple and straightforward movements you're served here come across with an overwhelming kind of power, and somehow, somewhere, after all is it a pleasure to watch. The way human bodies are casually thrown in reflects a rebellion against the common understanding that dance performance stages are extraordinary places, and surrounded by a strong sense of tension, the viewer ends up straining as well. "These are pure movements that rely completely on the body's instincts alone," explains Kamimura. Finally, here's one dancer who does what seems so obvious.

I pile up the movement that does not let you feel a meaning from conventional creation work by this new work sequentially and want to investigate the possibility of the method to be able to individualize space.
I show the gap that I use the large space, and there is among people with a person. I employ four dancers and individualize what is "left behind" with "an each other burr" apart. I make placement to let you feel clear movement and distance and the gap of the outline.
Please expect it.
