This movie is set in London. After loosing her job at an employment bureau, Angie, the single mother of an 11-year-old boy, teams up with a friend to launch their own job agency. It's tough going with illegal immigrants working for the new office, and other trouble that renders Angie unable to pay wages properly. The laborers get angry, and eventually Angie's son gets kidnapped. The woman who was once on the side of the immigrants embodies the weakness of human individuals who gradually turn into exploiters putting priority on their own benefit. It's bitter portrait of a person who works for the sake of her son, and who is at once part of a mechanism in which other persons are forced to work for next to nothing in order to help their families survive.
