TOKYO JAZZ FESTIVAL 2008

Like in the past six years, for the seventh time the musical summer in Tokyo closes with the biggest metropolitan jazz festival in Japan. Once again, a number of international top artists from all age groups gather for some hot and cheerful performances. This time the program consists of five shows featuring more than 15 artists ranging from living legends to fresh and spirited new musicians. Following pianist Hank Jones's concert with the NHK Symphony Orchestra (arranged by Don Sebesky), and a collaboration program with Blue Note Tokyo among many others, the festival closes again with a super jam session. In short, for everybody who loves acoustic jazz it's a program full of highlights, so you should definitely reserve the last weekend in August for the one and only Toyko Jazz.
