Man on Wire

Once there was a man who walked on a tightrope between the twin towers of the former World Trade Center. His name is Philippe Petit, and he performed his little trick in 1974. When learning about the plans to erect the world's tallest building, the French street performer visited the construction site several times, and intrepidly proceeded on his way toward his big dream of the walk 411 meters above the ground. Looking at the swings and roundabouts Petit went through before finally standing up there on the wire, and at the changes in the lives of the artist himself and everyone around him that the walk brought along, the viewer realizes how much 45 minutes can mean in a man's life when they're as profound and concentrated as Petit's 45 minutes between the towers. And what a beautiful sight it is to see him there, eager to get one step closer to the sky over Manhattan.
