This film tells the story of Doctor Parnassus and his friends, who show street performances while traveling around in a carriage. One of the attractions in their "Imaginarium" is a mirror that takes everyone who steps through it to a dream world of swirling desires, however it doesn't gain much popularity. One day the doctor's daughter Valentina rescues a man named Tony who hangs down from a bridge... This movie is based on Terry Gilliam's first original script in twenty years. The film crew suffered a setback when Heath Ledger, who was supposed to play Tony, suddenly passed away during the shooting, but his close friends Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell stepped in and swiftly took his place. The movie comes across especially moving when one remembers how bravely the team got over the woeful accident and managed to finish it.
