Underworld are back. Not that they've been away, but their just released new album marks a return from straight, rhythm-based techno to real songs and strong melodies. Every Underworld product since "Born Slippy" did have a little bit of the distinct mood of the unit's early releases, but only with the superb "Oblivion With Bells" Karl Hyde & colleagues have managed to revamp the old (=1988) Underworld, and the even older Freur sound and atmosphere in a new electonic guise. A live performanec of the "new" Underworld alone would be more than enough, but the organizers apparently wanted to make sure that the dancefloor is packed from the first minute, and invited Andrew Weatherall as well. And as if that weren't enough, replacing Hadouken, who had to cancel their appearance, will be the one and only, The Orb!
